The European Entrepreneurship Research Conference RENT will take place in Turku on (17) 18-19th November 2021 for the second time. This year the conference, organised by Turku School of Economics, will focus on inclusive entrepreneurship questioning whether all people have an equal opportunity to start-up and run a business and contributing to the ways this could be achieved.
The RENT Conference has been organized since 1987 all over Europe. This year the conference is hosted by the University of Turku, School of Economics and it will take place on 18-19 November in the Radisson Blu Marina Palace, Turku. The pre-conference is organised on 17 November at the Turku School of Economics.
This year the conference focuses on inclusive entrepreneurship to envision how promoting democracy, social values and inclusivity may influence entrepreneurship in ways that embrace also vulnerable people and communities in a sustainable way.
The plenary programme includes a keynote speech from David Audretsch (Distinguished Professor, Ameritech Chair of Economic Development, Indiana University, USA), who focuses on ‘Entrepreneurship & Democracy’. The plenary includes a Panel discussion with the topic of ’Promoting inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurial activity in the creative economies’. The chair of the panel discussion is professor Jarna Heinonen from the University of Turku.
The conference programme covers a multitude of themes and ongoing debates in current entrepreneurship research. The pre-conference programme also includes ECSB (The European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) workshops for participants and researchers of different stages supporting their career development.
The conference will attract about 250 entrepreneurship scholars from all over Europe, and even further away.
