The sixth Entrepreneurial Act of the Year competition was launched at the University Entrepreneurship Day on 23 November 2020. In the academic year 2020–2021, the partner of the competition is LähiTapiola Varsinais-Suomi.

​The University of Turku’s Entrepreneurial Act of the Year is awarded as an encouragement and acknowledgement to a person or group who have successfully and independently promoted entrepreneurial attitude and activities in the University. The award is 30,000 euros and in the academic year 2020–2021 it is sponsored by LähiTapiola Varsinais-Suomi insurance company.

– As a responsible insurance company, we want to support the local education and entrepreneurship. We are the partner of the Intoa! Competition for the second year in a row, because it is important to promote the multidisciplinary competence of the home region, describes Olli Aakula, CEO of LähiTapiola Varsinais-Suomi. 

– The Intoa! Competition is a very important part of the University of Turku’s entrepreneurship strategy.  The award, sponsored by The University’s partner LähiTapiola Varsinais-Suomi, is significant. The previously awarded entrepreneurial acts have been very diverse and we are looking forward a wide range of competition proposals in this academic year also, says Jukka Kola, rector of the University of Turku.

In the academic year 2019–2020, the winner of the Entrepreneurial Act of the Year was research and development laboratory Flavoria®.  Flavoria® is a multidisciplinary research platform at the University of Turku that can be used for producing new scientific knowledge and consumer understanding for the sustainable development of both society and business.

Suggest The Intoa! Entrepreneurial Act of the Year competition by 31 March 2021.

The winning act can involve, for example, education based on entrepreneurship and professional life, entrepreneurial working methods and leadership, innovative and creative collaboration with business life, commercialisation of research and promotion of entrepreneurial awareness in a multidisciplinary university. The winner must be a member of the University staff or a group that can also include students.
